Phoenix

Phoenix has a population of approximately 1.5 million.  It offers a vast array of diversity in terms of housing, demographics, business, and entertainment.

Phoenix has many unique neighborhoods, including 35 different historic districts.  Many of the historic districts have been hubs for housing redevelopment with substantial renovations conducted on the homes. (http://www.phoenix.gov/HISTORIC/residents.html)

New housing areas are also available within Phoenix, including the areas of Ahwatukee, Desert Ridge, and Estrella (http://www.phoenix.gov/PLANNING/vpcommtt.html)

Over the past 5 years, there has been a push by the local governments and developers to bring additional residential housing into the city core through the development of high rise condos and apartments.  Although Phoenix does not have the prototypical downtown area of most large cities, efforts continue to change the landscape in the urban core.  This has recently been helped by the opening of a significant downtown Arizona State University Campus as well as the additional of light rail running through Phoenix from several outlying hubs.

Housing in Phoenix is available in a vast array of prices, ranging from very inexpensive up to some of the most expensive houses in the Phoenix metro area.
